Archibald Knox for Connell & Co Silver and Enamel Beaker

A fine silver and enamel beaker designed by Archibald Knox for Liberty and Co but manufactured at Connell & Co. Hallmarked for London 1906.

Although most Knox silver carries the Cymric mark this dates from when Knox's style began to go out of fashion and when Liberty's sold a number of his metalwork designs to James Connell & Co. He ceased his association with Liberty & Co. in 1912. The beaker measures 10cm in height and weighs 4.27oz. The enamel is perfect in shades of red, yellow, blue and lilac within a swirling celtic entrelac design so typical of Knox designs.
