WMF Art Nouveau Silver Plated Large Wall Plaque
A large WMF Silver plated wall plaque depicting a maiden profile with flowing hair and floral decoration. Stamped to the reverse with the AK & CIE mark for Albert Kohler Vienna. This being a metalware company acquired by WMF around 1900 which carried on producing WMF designs for the Austro Hungarian market. After 1914 the Vienna branch carries out repairs only.
Measuring 49.5 cm in diameter this item is illustrated in the WMF book Art Nouveau Domestic metalwork of the 1906 trade catalogue on page 312, model number 237. Circa 1906.
